First, let me say thank you for supporting both the state and county Library Bonds. The bonds pay for the library materials including books, audio books, movies, and more. Your continued support of the bonds also tells the governing bodies that you believe libraries are an important part of our community. So thank you!
We are finally feeling the cooler temperatures of late fall weather in Albuquerque. For me, it brings the desire to curl up with a good book in front of a fire. For others it may bring the love of tradition and festivity or looking forward to family and food. Maybe all of the above!
A tradition this time of year for the Albuquerque Public Library Foundation (APLF) is our Annual Appeal. This is our gentle request for your support before you get caught up in all the holiday activities that December brings.
Very soon, you will find our Annual Appeal letter in your mailbox. We are incredibly grateful for any support you can provide as we strive to maintain and expand library programs.
When you make a gift to the Library, you make a gift to your Community. With your help, we can reach even more individuals and families and make a difference through the power of literacy and education. APLF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization; all gifts are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
With that, I would like to say that my wish for you is to find a bit of quiet time during this holiday season to read an old favorite or find a new adventure. As always, thank you for being a library supporter.
The Leopold Writing Program invites New Mexico students in grades 6-12 to submit original essays for our 2025 Writing Contest.
There is always something happening at each of the 19 libraries in our Public Library system.

Smith’s Inspiring Donations will donate 0.5% of all eligible spending to APLF that customers have linked to their Rewards Card.
